I didn't want to rec this until I read the whole thing, and I just finished it! So let me tell you guys that O'er the Dark-Green Sea by poisonivory is super great. It is a DC Comics AU in which the various members of the Green Lantern and Green Arrow families are either pirates or members of the British Navy. And yeah, whatever, Kyle Rayner and Connor Hawke are cute together in it, but also Jenny is amazing and Hal and Ollie are total dramaqueens and I love poisonivory's dedication to referencing totally random rogues all the time in her stories, and you should go read this. Yes.

Okay, so Wonderland confused me A LOT and also, I was possibly too high level for the boss, because I was totally waiting for the Queen of Hearts to be the boss, but SHE WAS NOT. So what I thought I had to do to finish Wonderland was go find Alice and then return her to Wonderland and then fight the Queen of Hearts, but ACTUALLY I am FINISHED with Wonderland!

( Important discovery: Tarzan could probably save his world from the Heartless all on his own, because he's just that kickass. )

So my gameplay time on Kingdom Hearts is like 8:35 now or some shit. I'm still in Wonderland. I also have a question: I have gathered I learn how to fly in Neverland. After I do that, can I come back to Wonderland to get the things I can see, but cannot currently figure out how to reach because I can't jump that far? Also, Jesus Christ where is the fourth piece of evidence hiding? I HATE YOU WONDERLAND.

DC Comics, Teen Titans Jaime Reyes/Tim Drake.
This story is kind of a fix-it AU set in a world where Cassie sort of blew up the team and re-started it with a lot of the old Young Justice crew and some of the people from the Teen Titans era before everything went to shit. But it's not a fix-it so much as a reconcile-it, to quote a commenter on the story. It's also hilarious and awesome and you should read it!

It feels like it's been about forever since I've had a weekend off, and even longer since I've had a weekend off and not spent it, like, being social in person. It's so weird having all this free time. I've been spending it waiting for my actions at Echo Bazaar to refresh and reading fanfiction. I might go for a bike ride later.

jazzypom wrote a really interesting post about Young Avengers fandom and race and female characters a while back, and I have not read Young Avengers in something like four years, but when I saw that she had written a Young Avengers story for Comics Big Bang, I was super excited. This is a story about Eli Bradley, and about superheroes who are not white, and about Eli/Kate. It is very good.

There is also a story from lgbtfest that I thought was pretty great:

DC Comics: The Lost Alchemist by fleur_de_liz. Blue Beetle/Booster Gold, PG. An alternate universe story with magic and gods and fairytales. Y'all, this story is so great. SO GREAT.

I am slowly but surely unlocking things in Lego Batman, which I have started playing again for no good reason. I actually found the final missing minikit canister in two scenes in the past week, and finally actually finished the minigame version of Gotham Streets (Villain), although not with a good enough time to unlock anything. Blah blah blah, I am bad at videogames.

I am less bad at Echo Bazaar because the point is doing stupid things and seeing what happens. ( Example! )

Tonight, Evan Lysacek did a "futuristic" dance on DWTS in which he and Anna were vaguely robotic, and Anna was possibly Leeloo, and Evan kept doing terrible robot voices in the training segments. And the same day, baylop wrote The Most Important Thing, which is a story in which Evan Lysacek is secretly a robot. He has little robot feelings, and I realize that that sounds totally condescending, but whatever, it's Evan Lysacek, and the actual story was sort of bittersweet and I love stories where people are secretly robots. The story has a lot of issues with homophones, so if that sort of thing bugs you, beware, but I enjoyed it. But again, robots and my feelings about them.

I have been failing to finish the last Fionavar Tapestry book, and I don't know why, because I want to know what happens. Possibly because I am sure things will somehow manage to get worse and more tragic for our intrepid heroes.

Today I also got my weekly e-mail from my comics shop telling me what comes out this week. I AM SUPER EXCITED about this week's comics. I hope they don't suck!

edit: Some other things! I am going to be slowly working my way through the comicsbigbang stories over the next however long, and it might take me a while to read all the ones that sound good, but I WILL READ THEM EVENTUALLY OKAY.

I am shortly going to start sorting out who I'm following on Dreamwidth and start taking people off my Default View on LJ so I'm not getting double posts by looking at both friends lists. I'm also going to start, like, actually giving people access/subscribing back on Dreamwidth, which I have been bad about doing because I don't get notifications like I do on LJ. I'm not ignoring you, I promise!

Normally, I try to restrict myself to one post per day, but I am probably not going to be posting tomorrow since I am going on a date-ish thing right after work. So whatever! Here are some things I have read recently that were pretty all right!
