OH MAN, y'all! My co-worker brought in THREE NEW AMISH ROMANCE NOVELS TO WORK. I am SO EXCITED. I just finished reading Wanda E. Brunstetter's A Cousin's Promise, which I was hoping would have cousin-on-cousin action in it, but sadly, it did not.

What it is about is that a bunch of young Amish people from Indiana are being driven to Pennsylvania to go to an amusement park when they have a HORRIBLE CAR CRASH because one of the girls in the car is afraid of bees and there is a BEE IN THE CAR. And Our Hero has to have one of his legs amputated and he decides that this means he cannot support his fiancée and they should break up. Everybody's mothers are horrible people who run around conspiring against Our Hero and Our Heroine getting back together.

ELSEWHERE, IN MONTANA, one of the members of their community who left to go work on a ranch and live with the English (before joining the church, so he is not shunned, of course), discovers that his ex-girlfriend (Our Heroine) and one of his good childhood friends (Our Hero) had been in a horrible car accident back in Indiana and decides that HE MUST GO BACK HOME AND SEE IF THEY ARE OKAY.

Proof I am doing Amish Romance Novels rong: I SPENT THE ENTIRE REST OF THE BOOK DECIDING THAT A THREESOME WOULD REALLY BE THE BEST CHOICE OF ACTION HERE.

Sadly, eventually Our Hero and Our Heroine eventually get together, and Our Hero's Mother eventually accepts Our Heroine. But not before the following happens:

- The building the community is holding their fundraiser for the medical bills of the people in the car crash CATCHES ON FIRE.

- Our Heroine's buggy has a loose wheel and she WOULD HAVE DIED if Our Hero wasn't trying to set her up with The Other Man and had him follow her home in his buggy so she would ~be safe~.

- The Other Man's horses get lose and are killed by a semi. This is basically never spoken of again.

- Our Hero's mother has a bicycle accident and breaks her leg so badly she has to stay overnight in the hospital for surgery. Simultaneously, Our Hero's Father has a really bad throat infection and is stuck in bed.

- Our Hero's mother, now with her leg in a cast, decides to go to the basement to get some peaches, but FALLS DOWN THE STAIRS AND GETS CONCUSSED AND IS DOWN THERE FOR LIKE AN HOUR ALL ALONE :(

- AND THEN OUR HERO'S FAMILY'S HOUSE GETS DESTROYED BY A TORNADO.

But nobody fell off a ladder! Not even once! And also, at one point one of the baby sheep on Our Hero's family's farm gets stomped on and Our Hero is like NO DO NOT PUT IT DOWN IF WE CAN JUST AMPUTATE THE LEG I WILL TAKE CARE OF IT. AND HE SPENDS THE WHOLE REST OF THE BOOK BEING FRIENDS WITH AN ADORABLE THREE-LEGGED SHEEP.
