blah, wow
So, I'm getting pretty close to being able to roll a Death Knight. (I'm pretty comfortably into level 54 now.) You know, once I buy WotLK. Which I should do pretty soon, because eventually retribution paladins being overpowered is not going to outweigh my lack of glyphs (and gear, and skill, but WotLK can't fix those). SC is trying to get me to make one Horde-side on Boulderfist. I definitely want to go for a DPS spec, since I don't feel comfortable tanking yet. SC is encouraging me to go Blood, at least while leveling, due to the lack of health concerns/self-healing aspect. However, I'm mainly only seeing tanking specs around for Blood, since it's the preferred DK tanking tree. And Frost sounds like it could be pretty fun. So, I guess, is a mainly Blood DPS spec viable while leveling, and if so, is there some sort of sample/pre-made out there I can crib from? (I'd probably respec to Frost at 80/85 if I did this.) Or should I just suck it up and go Frost, and, like, pick up Herbalism and First Aid, and carry around a lot of health pots?
(Also, perhaps I'll feel ready to tank when I make my Worgen DK on my Alliance server come Cata. PERHAPS.)
Tooled around a bit with a druid today, just to kind of get a feel for it. (I made a nelf druid, but my for real druid will probably be a troll once they get druids.) Anyway, druids have the same problem hunters have at low levels, which is that they are not even the same class for the first ten levels as they are later. Like, a mage is pretty much always a mage. A paladin is pretty much always a paladin, even when all she has is a seal, a judgement, and some autoattacks. But a hunter without a pet is a guy with a gun backing away from mobs so they don't eat his face. If you want to be a feral druid, you gotta sit through, what, like 10 levels of being a caster?
I mean, I think when I eventually get my real druid to 85, she'll probably be dual-specced Balance/Resto, but for leveling? FERAL PLZ.
THIS IS MAINLY BECAUSE I AM IMMENSELY BAD AT SOLOING ANYTHING WITH A CASTER CLASS. I have like NEGATIVE SKILL AT KITING. And this is why my hunter is now my bank alt.
THINGS I NEED TO DO:
- set up Pally Power now that I have 2 of 3 of my Greater Blessings
- install Grid so I can actually play my Healer sometimes
- figure out if there is a way to macro my trinket-use to an ability used more frequently than the trinket's cooldown, so I don't forget to use my trinket. I thought I'd figured this out, but when I tried binding it and my Judgement together, it didn't work. (Or, rather, the whole thing ended up on the trinket's three minute CD, not Judgement's 8sec with a "I can't use that item" error message for the trinket while it's on cooldown.) Boo.
