YOU GUYS. I AM SO DUMB. I went up to Western Plaguelands to kill undead on the farms and FORGOT TO PUT ON MY ARGENT DAWN COMMISSION, LIKE A DUMBASS. Also, basically just that one bugged mob type at Dalson's Tears gives me AD rep for kills anymore because I've hit Honored. This rep grind is going to be funnn. /o\ On the plus side, LEVEL 55 HECK YES.

In other news! Played around with my priest a bit more and got him to level 8. Am trying to decide whether to go holy or disc when I start getting talent points. I know disc tends to work better in 5-mans and PvP and Holy is better for raid heals, but beyond that, which is better at lower levels? What is play style like for them? (I know both are more complex than pally healing anyway. Lol deciding between two buttons. Well, and cleansing on occasion.)

(Also speaking of holy pallies, I was messing around on said holy pally today as well, and ran into one of the abominations [orange elite mob at this point] in Ghostlands and FORGOT I WASN'T CRAZY OP RETFACE and was like "Okay, let's check this out. I CAN PROBABLY TAKE HIM." LOLOLOLOL. I mean, I guess I could have taken him had I not gone COMPLETELY OOM after getting him to about 80% health. Which took like THREE MINUTES BECAUSE HOLY PALLIES HIT LIKE WET NOODLES. Um, I ran away really well, though!)

(Also speaking of holy pallies: when about do you start seeing shields for pally and shaman healers? I know gear-wise I technically want a one-hander and a shield, but I suspect the belf won't be seeing healer shields until Outland.)

Well now I'm not quite so satisfied about my last two levels of Plaguelands questing. Fuck.

LOLOLOLOL At least now I feel less lonely in my failures? (Although at least you were questing, I was just grinding the Dalson's Tears mobs.)

By the account of everyone I know who plays priests, if you play Holy to level and do not have someone helping out the whole way, it will take eleven-billion years.

That could have changed in recent history, dunno, but at least used to be the wisdom I would hear that unless you hated yourself and enjoyed misery, you levelled Shadow or Discipline and then kicked over to Holy for raid healing if that's what you were gonna be doing.

But, okay, you have to understand I am WEIRDLY old-school. I started on the game only about a year after it game out, so basically everything was still fucking evilly hard compared to what it's like now (and was, still, much easier than previous MMOs were, omg, like EverQuest where when you died, you respawned and had to run to get your gear off your corpses or you just LOST YOUR GEAR ALTOGETHER). Like, when I picked it back up last year I was like, wtf, my mount can swim?! when I fell off the dock in Hinterlands, and the experience of levelling was totally effing different. I remember when Barrens chat was Barrens chat, and like. You wanted to set the entirely zone on FIRE if you were Horde because it was ugly and miserable and just about nearly all you could fucking do for quests for like TWELVE LEVELS. SO! My notion of how hard stuff is to do remains skewed.

TOTALLY RANDOMLY, I will note it's totally worth it, when you level to there, to go to Outlands as soon as you can (which is 68) because the XP is way better in Outlangs and also, it's freaking ridiculous levelling through Outlands because you get your flying mount at 70, and the place was designed for not having flying mounts until, what, 78? So, so many quests where you just fly in, grab something, and either fly out or run out, no grinding through all the mobs to get there. Sadly you do not get your Northrend flying mount until 78 unless you've already levelled a character to 80 (in which case, you do).

(My cunning plan is to get my main, a troll mage, to max-level before Cataclysm comes out. WE'RE NOT ACTUALLY SURE IF I WILL MANAGE. *facepalm*)

Yeah, I'm also consoling myself with Outland's outrageous quest rewards and XP. :D

Now that there's the random dungeon finder, you can literally level only in instances if that's what you want to do, and that's my plan for my priest (outside of priest quests) and for my holy pally, because I am really really lazy. (Well, the holy pally is probably going to quest up to 20 because instancing without Flash of Light is haaaaard.)

I'm totally going to Outland at 58 and Northrend at 68 (I think?) because the gear and XP is SO MUCH BETTER. Totally excited.

Oh hey, yes. That's true. I, uh, I kind of haven't done anything ever with the random dungeon finder, see: my bizarre old-skoolitude despite not having even my main max-leveled. (I'm going to have to give up and start using it, though, because right now I hate ALL QUESTS EVER. So, so fucking tired of not being able to quest in the zones I think are pretty and awesome because I'm at least 1 if not more levels too low for any ~quests~.)

And, yes, right, 58 is for Outland, and then 68 is Northrend. I am totally not firing on all cylinders today. It really is AMAZING how much better the XP and gear is.

I honestly love the random dungeon finder. Especially with so few people being at level with me, it really helps finding a group to do dungeons with. I usually run with a tank I know (my bf) which helps queue times, which can be kind of long for DPS. But I've probably done about 7 or 8 of my 56 levels in random dungeons. (And man, BRD is confusing as heck, but it is super chock full of XP LET ME TELL YOU WHAT.)
