More Rift.

So Freemarch is basically like the Barrens (back before you could get a mount at 20) except if it had NO FLIGHTPOINTS WHATSOEVER. If you're a new player, you will probably not have much cash to buy a mount (especially if, like me, you keep getting in over your head fighting rifts/invasions), and IT IS ALL FAR AWAY. EVERYTHING IS FAR AWAY. Apparently they added a portal in at King's Retreat or something, but hell if I can find it. Dang.

This is mainly annoying because I find I have difficulty defending in invasions because I can't get to where I'm needed quickly enough. I can't get that mount quickly enough.

What this game is really driving home is how ridiculously easy WoW is, as well. I mean, thee mobs are much much harder than the WoW quest mobs are while leveling. (Sort of on the same level as Tol Barad quest mobs, except you also likely have very little HP.) Putting aside the "elite level 20 mobs patrolling the roads in a level 7-20 zone during a zone-wide invasion" factor. (Enjoy being ganked by NPCs!) It's kind of fun, but man, I forgot how crap I was at games there for a bit.

Anyway!
So, Saboteuring is pretty great still. I bought three pieces of planar gear with all the rifts I've been fighting. (I had like 500 planarite already, plus some of the nice pieces that let you get blue items.) So I picked up two axes and a blue chest piece.

Now, I know that axes are not really considered rogue weapons in Rift, but most of the saboteur abilities seem to be "Weapon damage + X amount of damage type", and they had as much dexterity on them as they did strength. And daggers and one-handed swords are really fast, which means their base damage is not as high as the slower axes. I am fairly sure this is the correct move, but if someone ever comes up with hard numbers, I will figure it out!

I highly recommend (I have not done this myself yet because I got distracted by shinies), that if you're planning to roll a saboteur to quest with, make sure you pick up the 3 points in Silent Setup. Charges producing NO threat is amazing, because it lets you set up your charges, detonate them (putting the mob at half health or lower) before anything starts attacking you. This is important because you are SQUISHY.

Anyway, I wrote up a big "beginner's guide to saboteur" thing at work today, but I'm feeling too lazy to really type it up now. Might do it tomorrow? Idk.
