So, a lot of folks are doing Eastern Plaguelands from 40-45, because the Fiona caravan quests are awesome, but I decided to try Thousand Needles on my warrior instead. It is pretty awesome too. You get a boat! (And the intro quests give you an underwater breathing/swim speed buff whenever you're in the zone afaict.) [I completely finished the zone, and the boat does not go away either. HECK YES BOAT.]
First, you fight pirates! (Well, first you start a barfight between the gnomes and the goblins in the raceway ruins and it's awesome.) Here's my warrior chillin' with the ghost of Captain Tony Two-Tusk. He's pretty chill. I don't know how hard he actually is to kill because some 80 was questing in the area and just invited me and one-shot him. He's elite, though, so probably pretty hard.
Then you have to do some sort of sketchy shit involving oil and centaurs, but it opens up a really awesome series of quests where the nelfs and tauren are battling the Grimtotem, and turns into a series of "escort" quests where you fight some elite Grimtotems with an awesome Sentinel. (Although, warning: she doesn't really get the concept of pulling dudes to you instead of charging right in. We ended up with some 6-7 mob pulls 'cause she was charge happy.) I didn't get any caps from that because I was too busy trying not to die, but one of the questgivers there is a smite spamming priest.
You also get to hang out with some baaaaaaby wind riders, and infiltrate the Twilight Hammer cult again. I have sort of a soft spot for this guy now.
And then Magatha Grimtotem possibly dupes you into doing something to further her plots or something, but you look awesome doing it.
So what I actually learned from Thousand Needles was that Pummel is awesome, and I should Rebuke more on my paladin. INTERRUPTS ARE THE BEST.
Also, warrior question: I assume as Fury I'll be using Slam much like my ret pally uses Exorcism? That is, only when I've talented into it and it procs to be an insta-cast?
Also also, the warrior still hasn't died outside of that time she got one-shot by the Shade of the Horseman when she was like level 7. Clearly, I should learn how to tank on her because I feel like such an indestructible badass whenever I play her.
AND an important hunter question! Bertinelli's currently rolling with a plagued bear because I am bad enough at moving and shooting that I really wanted a tanking pet. On the other hand, I really, really, really also want a darkhound. I know that I could wait until 40 and tame a proper plaguehound, but I'd like to have a ferocity pet for dungeoning. I guess I should see what's in Silverpine around the level she'll be getting her second active pet slot.
