Greetings from Cataclysm! I now have a level 81 Draenei paladin! I still have not discovered the entrance to either of the 80-83 dungeons. I have, however, finished the sub-zone of Kelp'thar Forest in Vashj'ir. I only died once from getting spawned on top of [lol named corpse pile], which, hey! Grats to me! I am not sure why I decided to level in Vashj'ir, since it is full of 3D fights and naga. (I did do the starting quests to get to Mount Hyjal just to pick up the flight point, though.) AND THERE IS A WHALE SHARK. As far as I can tell, the whale shark is not so much a welcome bear/fel reaver type character so much as a grue.

I also made my worgen priest and my goblin mage. I got my worgen priest to level 10 before I got sick of fighting over named mobs and decided apparently I'm getting her phased into the rest of Azeroth at some point in the future. My goblin only got to level 4 before I got a little burned out. Is there some sort of quest item I'm supposed to get for Waltz Right In? Because, uh, if not, I don't get what I'm supposed to do. (Or, uh, I guess the guys who can see through my disguise are the ones at the gate? IDK.)

Anyway, we shall see how all this goes.

YOU GUYS I AM SO CONFUSED BY INQUISITION. (Is there a way to set Power Auras Classic up to give an alert about specific conditions only when you are in combat? Apparently ret pallies are supposed to keep Inquisition up at all time [since it's basically where our seal damage went] which means, um, I'll need to be keeping track of that, but I don't want to have a big shiny YOU NEED TO PUT UP INQUISITION glow when I'm, like, trying to fish or something.) Also, can you activate Inquisition (and Zealotry, which I will never use since I AM DOING TOO MANY OTHER THINGS WITH MY HOPO HERE.) with a Hand of Light proc? OH MY GOD, WHY IS THIS SO FIDDLY? MY HANDS ARE NOT BIG ENOUGH FOR ALL THE BUTTONS I NEED TO BE PUSHING.

Also, folks who said that two of the Cata mobs would EAT YOUR FACE were not entirely lying (assuming the starting zone ones are on the weak side), but with Seal of Insight all things are possible. (And this is why I am bad at paladin.)

I sort of came to the conclusion that it's not that the mobs are badass so much as I am undergeared? I guess they balanced it for people who have been raiding? Or... something? I'll cop, I've died a couple times in Vash'jir already due to, well, too many pulls. I can basically take one thing at a time and maybe two things if I am on top of EVERYTHING, which okay, I remember this from ye olden days of mage levelling. I just don't remember it fondly. But I care a lot less now because OMG SO PRETTY.

Yeah, Vashj'ir definitely started getting less insane once I picked up a few quest greens from there. (I went from 19k health to 30k. I mean, yeah, I picked up some tank gear because it was a DPS increase, but DAMN.)

I can't imagine questing in Vashj'ir as a mage. That is pretty hardcore.

Hahahaha. Yeah, well, I gave up after a little bit and went over to Mount Hyjal to get my flight point. I think I might quest there a bit more before heading back to Vash'jir?

ETA: So I went back to Vash'jir cos I wanted my seahorsey. Oh my god, the hell, I died like four times on the defending the Immortal Coil quest. My repair bills are so, so ugly. On the other hand: SEAHORSEY.
