So, I flew out to Alcaz Island last night while I was getting the Elders of Kalimdor achievement. I'd been out there once before; enough to notice that unlike the old elite areas in the old world in EPL, Ashenvale, Feralas, Duskwood, Hinterlands, Winterspring, Blasted Lands, Silithus*, etc. Alcaz Island was still populated with level 60+ elites. Doctor Weavil is supposedly no longer there, since they took out the Scepter of Shifting Sands questline, and I never really knew where he was in the first place. However, last night I discovered that his minions are still there:

Weird! [EDIT: THIS IS SPARKLING CLEAN LIES! HE'S STILL THERE. I couldn't see his nameplate from outside so I just assumed.]

[moar edit: If you don't have a pet or an immunity spell to break the MC, you'll probably have to be pretty well-geared to solo him at 85, since you need to burn him down in 15 seconds if you can't break MC. I was doing about 6k before he MC'd me and I only got him down to about 70%. Luckily, I'm lolret.]
Anyway, later I was flying between Desolace and Feralas, and flew over this island populated with friendly level 85s and a burning tower:

That screen's from flying over as my shaman today, since I saw they were PvP-flagged so I thought they might be hostile to the Horde, but no. I haven't fully quested in Feralas or Desolace, and I still need to finish Vashj'ir and Twilight Highlands on Honor, so maybe this place is for something, but IDK. I hope it's just an island of friendly 85s for no reason.
And then I tabbed out on the zep to Borean Tundra today while I waited for it to leave, and when I tabbed back to the game...

you guys left without me? :(
And then I got my Spriest to 29 and now she has SHADOWFORM HECK YES

also, mana issues. THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH DRINKS IN THE WORLD. (Also, then I dinged 30 and bought a holy offspec, and eventually I'll actually start using it. Eventually.)
*Actually, while Silithus no longer has as many elite areas, Hive'Zora's 4-5 wasp pulls are pretty freaking hard to solo at level. Doable, but hard.
