I am still not sure how I managed to end up here, but I'm pretty pleased with myself.

In which my bank alt terrorizes the people of Northshire Valley while trying to get guild charter sigs so he can have more space for all his stuff:

I cropped out the giant stack of jasper I had sitting in my bags from this bout of "buying shit people put up on the AH for under vendor price," but I think you get the idea:

My server finally had one of those weird glowy, glitched, untargettable people show up in the Stormwind Auction house. I was so psyched I took a screen shot:

And I've finally done that which happens eventually to all of us in WoW.
That's right, I rolled a gnome rogue:

yeeeeeeaaaaaah!
Other notes!
- I have been rereading the Harry Potter series for reasons I'm not clear on, and I just finished Prisoner of Azkaban, and I still love that book so much. Also, man, I forgot how dirty some of Chamber of Secrets was. Percy was hiding in his room all summer "polishing his badge" indeed.
Basically, um, so far the things I feel much differently about than I did the first time I read them are 1. I find Harry kind of charming this time around! I am totally looking forward to CAPSLOCK HARRY, ngl. 2. I'm less fond of Snape, which baffles me? 3. I really like how the parts of fandom I hung out in were like "So, we too are distracted by gingers, would you like to write some Weasleycest with us?" and I was like "Sure" and now I am sort of baffled by that? Like, where did that come from? I mean, obviously it came from the "unf twinzzzzz" place.
Things that are basically the same: 1. Hermione is still the best. 2. I am still really confused by the whole Percy Weasley storyline, and also I am quite fond of him. I am sure there will be more on that later. 3. I really like Ginny, and yet expect to continue to be confused by Harry/Ginny getting very little development. 3.5 by which I mean Harry/Hermione/Ron 4 evaaaa.
- I kind of feel like I want a new fandom? I mean, not as in "I am dissatisfied with playing video games constantly" but in the way where I kind of miss writing fanfic and talking to people on my flist about, um, things? And I'm actually kind of in the mood for a fandom mostly about the slash, but basically I think these might be separate wants and I actually want two things. One is a new fandom, so you should promote yours to me! The other is to magically find all the episodes of The Sentinel online somewhere and go watch them ALL. ALL OF THEM.
- I might be starting a giant, time-consuming project at work. The whole thing is super scary, but also kind of exciting! We shall see!

And then I thought about who the primary audience of Warcraft is and I thought better of it.
I still really kind of want some, though. Not tie-in novels, actual fanfic. By, um, fangirls. (Where fangirl == female-dominated fandom's usual modes of interaction with sources, rather than necessarily female writers, as opposed to fanboy being, yeah, the same with male-dominated fandom usual modes of interaction. And god do I wish that we had better terms that aren't inherently gendered that aren't, like, five words long.)

How big is the Community... community? I was really into the show for a while and then work conflicted so I missed a bunch of episodes, but it is a pretty A+++ show.

The Community community is not big, but it's...getting bigger? IDK, I know Troy won the fandom March Madness thingy, but overall it can be more of a het-centered fandom.

Yeah, I think my "I want a new fandom to be into and talk to tons of people about and whatnot" might be separate from my "slash now" desires? Like I said, I might just need to go watch some S&H or TS or something.

You should totally watch Doctor Who, though! It is not mostly about the slash, but it's awesome and the sixth season is starting in like three weeks. You can just watch last year's season if you don't want to catch up on all fifty years of episodes, it's kind of a fresh start and it's so goooooood.

Oooh. I admit, I have been intrigued by this new Doctor. But I suspect having completely skipped the Ten years might confuse me, since I did watch the season with Nine.

honestly to watch Eleven, you just need a quick plot summary of the intervening years in the most general terms. The new showrunner is pretty blatantly trying to reinvent it for himself; there's only three episodes from the previous new-Who seasons that are directly referenced. Let me attempt to provide that quick summary:
Ten grows steadily more full of himself and emotionally messed up; two companions are forced to leave in painful circumstances (one of them being a woman he has to memory-wipe to keep her from dying) and one is driven away by the crappy way he treats her; two of those three (not the same two) get sexually or romantically attached to him and that all ends terribly for everyone involved; he goes actualfax insane with hubris, then confronts his psycho ex-boyfriend whom he thought was dead(after their last confrontation in season three of the new series), then said psycho ex dies again. Then Ten dies and regenerates, and season 5 picks up literally seconds later. That is seriously all you need to know. More than you need to know, really.
(The three episodes that are actually required viewing for season 5 are "Blink" from s3 and "Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead" from s4.)

But yay! Now I am free to go enjoy ridiculous Matt Smith Doctoring.
