So I tried soloing Pit of Saron (normal) in my protection spec today! It was pretty exciting. I had to get on Youtube to find the instance entrance because I am dumb!
Anyway, I'd only ever been in PoS once before, so it was sort of an adventure, but the boss mechanics were pretty easy. Garfrost was stupid easy. Ick & Krick was more problematic, not because not standing in fire is ~soooo hard~*, but because it's so easy to accidentally reset the encounter by Line of Sighting Krick. I'd get Ick down to like 30%, LoS Krick by accident, Ick would evade and I'd be like FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF. So after a while of that, I kind of gave up. But it was a good experience. I may do it again while I'm working on Wyrmrest Accord rep.
(Also also I went and played around with my tiny priest's Discipline spec and omggggg. I am so in love with the change to Atonement to make Holy fire count for it too, because it doesn't just heal based off the initial damage, ALL THE TICKS HEAL FOR A TINY AMOUNT TOO. [at least in my experience tooling around on a training dummy.] So tiny HoT + Glyph of Smite to increase Smite heals when smiting targets that have Holy Fire on them = possibly awesome? I don't know that I'm going to do much with this spec ever, but I love having it!)
* 9 wipes on High Priest Venoxis last night notwithstanding. That fight makes me feel like the noobiest noob to ever noob a noob.
