Various SWTOR things

So I'm into act 3 on my Trooper, which means time to go to Belsavis, which is a prison planet. And I'm okay with the whole "The Imperials instigated a riot at our prison planet, we need you to help us take care of the situation" plotline. I mean, if I really think about it, like, why the hell are you sending mercenaries to do this, but whatever. Okay.

Except the first group they want you to deal with is... people whose parents/grandparents were incarcerated on the prison planet and who were born there/have lived there their entire lives: ie. people who are rightfully kind of pissed off that they're on a prison planet for NO REASON.

And then everyone acts like I'm crazy for being like "Um. You know they kind of have a point."

Like, holy fuck, this is the worst planet. THE ACTUAL WORST.



Today I decided to suck it up and re-make that Imperial alt after all. So I made a Sith Inquisitor. General chat on the Sith starting planet was full of people talking about how boring the storylines are Repub side, and I'm sitting there the whole time, like, actually, I'm kind of finding Imp side sort of ... lol edgy try-hard. I mean, I'm not sure what I expected from storylines aimed at people who want to play bad guys, but I'm just bored. With the exception of two, all the dark side choices felt like they were just for the ev0lz.

I'm also not sure why my character, who is established in-game as an ex-slave is going to choose any DS option that is pro-slavery, or for the Sith's creepy fixation with blood purity.

On the plus side, she's cute? (Fuck yeah body type 4.) And her first companion is a cranky monstrosity she found sealed in a can in some ruins, which is pretty pro.


And some screencaps I keep meaning to share but don't:
* Yes, the guy with the holographic girlfriend (yes, she's a program) is the romance option for female Jedi Consulars. He also has the whiniest voice. I'm kind of tempted to roll a second Jedi Consular just to play romance option chicken with myself. I'm not sure I could handle it.

* This is the best mob classification ever.

Body type 4 appears to be "pixie face, with TITS." I approve!

I also love the "Your Companion" hovering over that giant angry reptile dude. Yep! That's your Companion! You two have fun now!

Body type 4 is just the body, not the face, and it's the "chubby" body type which is kind of hard to see in either of these pictures. I should take caps of the two from the character creation screen for comparison. It is sadly nowhere near as chubby as male body type 4 which is actually fat. But it's my favorite body type. (My trooper is body type 2 though.)

And nameplates are important ok. (It's especially hilarious in this instance though; you're right.)

Every one of my characters is body type 4. Because apparently I have a type?

Also, my Imperial Agent wants a hat that gives her a mustache, so she can twirl it as she condemns babies to death for treason. I just keep snickering because it's so over the top, which for all I know may be the point - I think I may have a higher imperial body count than the terrorists I'm chasing because I KEEP REFUSING TO STOP THEIR PLOTS SO I CAN INFILTRATE THEM MORE DEEPLY... so I can have all the dark side points.

I'm sure there's an interesting study to be done in how many people choose to do evil when there's a concrete mechanical benefit from long term consistency, versus when there isn't.

You mean the Imperial storylines aren't meant to vault over ~edgy~ into high camp? Could have fooled me.

I was not impressed by the slave bullshittery, and your head will probably hurt a lot when you get to the Unfinished Colossus. :/

Body type 4, FTW! I think it does make the face a little chubbier, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. My female Bounty Hunter definitely looks more impressive with a BT4, than my Trooper does with a BT2.
