I haven't been updating very much lately, which is mainly because I haven't been doing very much that is interesting. Most of the updates I would make would be things like:

1. Hey, so you know when you go to the Hall of Mirrors at the carnival in Echo Bazaar, and if you have Nightmares and enough tickets, there's that one mirror that's like "You could look into this mirror, but that would be unhinged"? That's a good way to wind up in A State of Some Confusion at a lower level of Nightmares than will get you there automatically.

On the plus side, I am now Nightmares free! For now. Given my tendency to click things to see what happens, I'm sure I'll get more in the future. [edit: And right after posting this, I clicked on something that gave me Nightmares again. One day I will learn that I cannot have all the secret knowledge.]


2. So I am dating a Secret Canadian*. Me dating someone is really weird because, you know, I'm me?

Driving out to see him has also resulted in the magic of getting lost in Ft. Wayne more ways than I knew how. I think whenever I leave his apartment he immediately brings up Google Maps and waits for my "I did something stupid again" phone call.

3. I can't decide whether to go to get comics tomorrow or not. I will see how much time I have to spend getting my bicycle, I guess. Right now I am not planning to go to Free Comic Book Day, but I guess we'll see.


4. It is taking me a really long time to finish reading The Fionavar Tapestry, even though I'm enjoying it. It's not like The Summer Tree was an especially long book, and yet it took me about a week to finish.

I am tempted to keep track of the number of times I have cried reading these books. The end result will surely be embarrassing.

On the other hand, I like how that one kid's spirit animal is a unicorn. That was good times.

1. Good to know! Also? DON'T INVESTIGATE THE VOICE IN THE WELL. D: The nightmare meter just keeps going up and down and you'll never really be free of them. Stock up on your laudanum.

4. I have a copy of The Lions of al-Rassan on my nightstand. I hear it is good but will undoubtedly not contain unicorn Patronuses spirit animals.

1. I think we do! I don't know which mine would be, though. Perhaps a Rubbery Man. I love the Rubbery Men for no reason. I just hang out with them because I like them. I sort of imagine them being like a flock of Zoidbergs. (And I currently have very little money because I am hoarding secrets and waiting until I hit Watchful 60 to convert them to Appalling Secrets, so I can write them in my notebook. Why? Because it makes me laugh. I already have like 6 or 7 Appalling Secrets anyway. Which is why I keep picking up Nightmares, I'm sure.)

Do you actually get anything good from investigating the well, or just Nightmares? I know the graffiti on the wall will give you hella Nightmares even if you succeed, but you at least get a ton of Secrets (Whispered, Cryptic, and a few Appalling) for your troubles.

Question! Should I be saving my Deep Amber for anything, or can I just sell it?

4. I have heard a lot of good things about that book as well. If I can get my hands on it, I will probably read it at some point in the future, since I am on such a fantasy kick lately.

Hee! I imagine them to be like cuddlier, friendlier Deep Ones who don't eat you because you're there.

I don't think the Well does give you secrets, but it has been a very long time since I've clicked on it. I don't know if you're high enough level to get the tree with the ear on it, but that gives you hella secrets, jsyk.

I don't think Deep Amber gets you anything special. And you can always buy some back if you need it.

I got the ear tree once and did, indeed, get hella secrets. IT WAS GREAT.

I think I'm going to go sell my deep amber, then! \o/ I never sell my moon pearls because I go to the carnival often enough and don't have a high enough Shadowy to steal tickets, so I'm usually pretty low on Echoes.
